PRESS RELEASE
Office of Senator Lindsey Graham
Ranking Member Senate Judiciary Committee

Today the Democrats of the Senate Judiciary Committee committed an unprecedented violation of the hallowed rules of the Senate in order to ram their legislation through the body without the consent of the American people.

Senators Feinstein, Hirono, Booker, Leahy, Harris, and Klobuchar circumvented the amendment process to add amendments the rest of the committee has not agreed to and they failed to resolve the markup session in a timely fashion because they refused to listen to Republican concerns.

This is why the American people cannot trust Democrats. Because they know partisans like these will prevent any actual legislative progress from being made. These Senators would rather we undermine election security and force small businesses to house VIOLENT criminals than pass legislation that helps the American people.

Even so, we are proud to report that the Judiciary Republicans were able to guide the SAVE Act (Safe Absentee Voting Everywhere) through committee with requirements for voter ID measures to prevent undocumented immigrants from voting, and other provisions to secure our elections.

The Judiciary Republicans, with President Trump, will continue to protect American’s interests because that is what our office commands of us.

Signed,

Senators Graham, Balckburn, Cruz, Ernst, and Sasse
